Ark of War – AOW is an RTS MMO for your phone. Set in a futuristic setting, you are tasked with the job of building up a war fleet, surviving on your mothership, and conquering the lands. Along the way, you have to collect resources by raiding plots and bases, killing monsters like giant worms and, as the way of games go, other enemy players.
Seven Pirates has released a new MMO for Android and iOS devices called Ark of War, and from the get-go, you can tell it’s an MMO – you will be entering your country’s guild and competing with other human players from all over world to become the “ruler of the universe.” And that’s the entire premise of this space-themed game. Earth’s ever-growing population has made the planet extremely crowded, and the whole galaxy has, in fact, become a battlefield between humanity and aliens, er, extraterrestrials. So how do you go about this? As the title suggests, you’ll have to make your own fortress on huge space arks, use the space ark in battle “in any way you deem,” and upgrade that ark as you go along, making it more powerful and making it look different. You can collect, equip, and evolve human and alien commanders alike, and add all sorts of units to your armies.
Now that you know what to expect from the game, let’s get you started the right way. Like in other MMOs, you’ll have a lot to learn about this title, but let’s start out with some beginner Ark of War tips and tricks.
1. Improve Your Commanders
This one’s pretty easy, and one of the first things you’ll have to learn how to do in the game. Just tap on the icon of your commander, and choose a commander. Once you’ve done that, you can make use of whatever magazines you have to increase their leadership level. A higher leadership level means more troops for your army whom you can bring with you to battle.
2. How Can You Improve Your Base Quickly?
There are different ways in which you could expedite the process of improving your base and making sure it’s properly updated. The first would be to perform the hint upgrades, and to ask for help on the upgrades that you cannot complete automatically for free. You can speed up more upgrades for free if you have a higher VIP level. The second, and we’d say best way, is to join an alliance, and make sure that the alliance you’re joining is active. If part of an active guild or alliance, the other members can pitch in to speed up research and training alike.
3. Don’t Collect Your Rewards Unless You Need Them
Ark of War will be very generous in giving out resource boxes, quest rewards, and other free stuff. But you wouldn’t want to collect them right away. Collecting your free rewards immediately will leave them up for grabs for other players to raid, so we would suggest leaving them uncollected until you truly need them. Remember that any rewards you collect are fair game for everyone, and when we say everyone, we mean thousands upon thousands of gamers, as this is an MMO.

4. What To Do With Free Equipment
You may, at some points, earn equipment in the game. If that happens, we recommend giving the equipment to your commander, provided you already have a forge ship. And once you’ve got a forge ship, you can activate it and make better equipment by combining two pieces with each other. Pretty standard MMO/RPG/MMORPG mechanics, but once again, this particular game takes place in space.

5. Complete The Daily Quests
The main quests aren’t the only ones which you have to complete in order to make the most out of your time in the game. You’ve also got daily quests and daily exploration activities to complete. Daily quests are pretty much a supplement to your main quests, and allow you to earn more than just resources; you may also earn more experience points, as well as a bit of free gold. Daily exploration allows you to gain free resources, making these activities very highly recommended unless you’re overflowing with resources.

6. Alliance Members Should Help Each Other
It goes without saying in most cases, but if you’re new to these kinds of games, you should remember to be generous and to help your alliance members if they’re in need, just as they lend a helping hand if you’re in need of one. Donate stuff to your fellow alliance members and they’re almost sure to do the same; it would, of course, be best if everyone in your alliance donates something. This makes it doubly important for you to find an active alliance.

7. Donations Cost Progressively More, So Switch ‘Em Around
While we’re still talking about alliances, let’s wrap up with one quick tip related to that topic. The more you donate one resource, the more it will cost you on the next donation, so if you want to save some money when it comes to donations, it’s a good idea to toggle between donation types.
